Join ACG Boston for a different kind of conference - a conference that will provide an overview of the role social media could play in your business based on real world examples from a great lineup of speakers. The conference will kick off with opening keynote speaker Laura Fitton of HubSpot, who will touch on success stories stemming from the marketing revolution brought about by strategic social media. Following the keynote, hear from four panelists representing companies in different industries and different stages of their strategic social media plan. Once upon a time dubbed a "Queen" of Twitter, Laura "@Pistachio" Fitton co-authored Twitter for Dummies and founded
(acquired by HubSpot) in 2009 when she recognized that software built on Twitter’s API was going to change the world.
As an Inbound Marketing Evangelist, she's excited about showing companies how to grow by helping people buy instead of cramming marketing messages down their throats.
Laura is credited with convincing Guy Kawasaki and thousands of tech execs that Twitter would have real business value. She founded the first Twitter for Business consultancy, Pistachio Consulting, in 2008 and has been speaking professionally about the business use of Twitter since 2007.
She is a warm and engaging keynoter, has lectured at HBS and MIT-Sloan, and has been quoted in dozens of national publications including BusinessWeek, Forbes, Fortune, Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal. She also raised $25,000 for
in December 2008 in the first ever "donate by tweeting" charity campaign, @Wellwishes. Laura lives in the Boston area with her two daughters and two dogs.

Steve is a lifelong Massachusetts resident and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Worcester State University in Media Communications.
It was early on at the age of nine while delivering the daily Worcester Telegram & Gazette that Steve developed a passion for the news, media and all its inner workings. His first stop out of college was working in marketing and pr at the Centrum, coordinating event marketing campaigns as well as pr for an upstart indoor lacrosse league and the New England Blazers.
Over the next 15 plus years Steve worked for New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc. holding positions in brand advertising, product marketing and business unit management. During that time he was part of transforming a small "sneaker company" into a global brand. Steve was responsible for creating synergistic marketing campaigns with partners such as Sesame Street, Oprah Winfrey, NASCAR and multiple celebrity and sports entities.
In 2007, an opportunity presented itself to take on the challenge of developing a marketing and communications plan which lead to the complete rebranding of Twins Enterprise, Inc.
Steve became the company’s first Director of Marketing. Twins Enterprise long known as a leader in sports licensed products lacked any consumer identity. In 2009, the company announced its rebirth as ’47 Brand combing headwear company Twins Enterprise and boutique apparel brand Banner Supply Company as one unified brand. He serves as point person for all marketing and media with MLB, NHL, NBA and over 600 college programs. In 2011, Steve was part of the internal team that helped win a bid to become a licensee of the NFL beginning in 2012.
Steve says, "The most interesting part of this field is the constant change and growth of how we market and communicate to consumers. Striking a balance between creativity and strategic thinking has always been key." The best business advice he ever received, Steve says, "above all, stay close to your customer and listen to them. It’s what they want not what you want to give them." The advent of social media, on-line marketing and hand held communication have transformed media and marketing more in the past 5 years than advertising did in the previous 20 years.
Steve enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, cycling and coaching youth sports along with any type of DIY project. Steve has been a guest lecturer at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Amherst for several years.

Mr. Kingsbury joined MCM in February 2008 and is primarily responsible for direct sourcing of investment opportunities, leading the partnership’s e-marketing strategy, web-site design and managing intermediary relationships within the investment banking and buy-side intermediary community.
Prior to joining MCM, Mr. Kingsbury was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 8th round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft. He spent six years playing professional baseball as an outfielder in the Pirates organization, participated in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, and was a 2008 inductee into the Fordham Hall of Fame.
Mr Kingsbury graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Todd Lash is responsible for SVB's online marketing and community initiatives. An entrepreneur himself, Todd has over 20 years of experience integrating marketing, business development, product strategy and award winning implementation for numerous technology startups.
Todd is credited with many technology firsts including the first web banner ad, and first commerce enabled TV advertisement on broadcast TV.

Charlie Storey joined the Harpoon Brewery in 1996. Storey is a 1982 graduate of Harvard College, and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1989. From 1989 to 1996, Storey worked for the FMC Corporation, a Chicago-based Fortune 500 industrial conglomerate. While at FMC, he held multiple functional responsibilities with assignments in Philadelphia, Mexico, and Texas. A native of Essex, MA, Storey currently lives in Essex with his wife and their two children.

David Messenger is the executive vice president and head of American Express’ new Online and Mobile business unit. In this capacity, Messenger is responsible for developing new online and mobile payment capabilities and associated services and applications, with an emphasis on creating strategic digital partnerships. Additionally, the role comprises all online and mobile marketing, business development, customer care and CRM functions.
Prior to joining American Express, Messenger worked at Virgin Mobile USA as chief administrative and corporate development officer where he was responsible for corporate development, corporate strategy, technology, operating platforms, customer care, customer base management, and customer experience.
Previously, he served as senior vice president for Take-Two Interactive Inc. in New York City. Before that, Messenger was a principal at Towers Perrin, in senior positions responsible for mergers and acquisitions and managing a consulting practice for the east and central regions. Earlier he worked at Price Waterhouse in the media, entertainment and communication sectors in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
Messenger holds a bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Wales College in Cardiff, United Kingdom.
