The finalist presentations took place on March 28th at the RBS Building at 600 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, CT.  For those of you unfamiliar with the RBS building, it houses one of the largest trading floors in the world and is easily accessible off I-95.

Following the presentations, ACG Connecticut hosted a cocktail reception within the Atrium of the RBS Building which was a great end to an exciting evening.

We will be announcing the winners on April 1st at our monthly ACG Connecticut Meeting in Stamford, CT at the Stamford Marriott at 7:30 am.  Of course, we hope all team members will be able to attend but we would ask that at least one representative of each team be in attendance.  As you might remember, the winning team will receive $1,000 (and the CUP!), second place will receive $500 and third place will receive $250.

Yale School of Management Wins First-Ever ACG Connecticut Cup Competition

ACG Connecticut has awarded the first-ever ACG Connecticut Cup title to a team of Yale School of Management MBA candidates.  Students from Yale’s School of Management competed against teams from UConn and Quinnipiac on March 29, 2010. The teams presented valuation, capital markets and M&A strategic advice to a panel of seasoned M&A professionals from within the ACG Connecticut community, including Mark Campbell of BlumShapiro, Ramsey Goodrich of Carter, Morse & Mathias, Fridolf Hanson of RBS Business Capital, Jonathan Rubin of Westbury Group LLC, and Rob Tucker of Capital Partners, Inc.

"ACG and its members did a phenomenal job running this event. Not only was it both challenging and fun, but it was a terrific learning opportunity as well," said Michael Barjum, Captain of the Yale ACG Cup team. "The cases were very realistic, and the judges – some of Connecticut’s premier dealmakers—created a lively and engaging discussion. We look forward to sending another team next year."

Participants in the ACG Connecticut Cup 2010 included:

 • 1st Place. Yale University, School of Management: Ashish Gupta, Michael Barjum, Jessica Hans, Mo Zhou

• 2nd Place. University of Connecticut, School of Business: Julia Yelevich, Jason Moss, Oana Dancescu, Dale Walter

• 3rd Place. Quinnipiac University, School of Business: Daniel Erdelyi, Shu Li, Geris Papajani, Josh Curry
