Congratulations to our 2013 Winners
The 2013 David Sloan Scholarship award winners are:

·       Simone Ross —Colorado State University’s EMBA Program
·       Ed Southwick —University of Colorado’s EMBA Program
·       Brian Pignanelli —University of Colorado Leeds School of Business MBA Program
·       Katy Gamble —University of Denver’s Daniels School of Business MBA Program
·       Joe Gratton University of Denver’s Daniels School of Business MBA Program

The scholarship program was developed in 2002 by David Sloan, former ACG Denver Board Member, who felt strongly that as the chapter grew it should give something back to the community in a meaningful way. At that time, Sloan received Board authorization for a $2,500 per year (for a two year scholarship) for one MBA student. He worked with the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business to create a scholarship and selection criteria for one of their MBA students.
As the chapter continued to grow, Sloan recommended that ACG Denver offer three more scholarships—one for Daniels Executive MBA (EMBA) students and two for similar programs at the University of Colorado.  And, two years ago in 2010, ACG Denver added a 5th scholarship for EMBA students at Colorado State University.

Sloan today said of the program, "I am honored to have my name associated with such a wonderful scholarship program that provides essential assistance to future business leaders in our community."  In addition, he said "As an unintended benefit, the chapter gains access to brilliant minds and future members through these scholarships."

Each year the Denver Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) awards one scholarship to a promising 1st or 2nd year student at each of five area graduate business programs, in the amount of $2,500 annually.
The scholarship is renewable for a second year based on both the academic performance and the career ambition of the student.  To be eligible for the award, the recipient must be currently enrolled in one of the following five programs with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. ACG Scholars Awards – Annual Process
Each Fall (October timeframe), a representative from each graduate business program will send out a notice regarding the process for applying for the scholarship.  ACG volunteers also try to schedule an informational session for students at each program to learn more about ACG as well as the scholarship award process. These informational sessions are usually held in October, November, or early December, depending upon the program academic schedule.  Contact the staff member for your program (listed above) for the latest information.
Applications generally are posted on this page for download by November 1 of each year.  The deadline for submitting your application is normally around the end of the first week of January – the specific date will be published in the application form itself.  Applications are then reviewed by ACG Denver’s Scholarship Committee during January.  Finalist interviews are generally completed in February, and awards granted at ACG Denver’s monthly luncheon in early April.
Set your goal now to become an ACG Scholar!  And in the process, engage with ACG Denver -- the premier business association in the Rocky Mountain region that offers access to expert people and essential resources that help drive middle-market growth.
ACG Denver Graduate Business Student Memberships
Memberships are available for students enrolled in the above graduate business programs at discounted rates.  For more information and a student membership enrollment form, please contact Louise Richardson at LRichardson@acg.org
