Private Equity Event

ACG Minnesota is pleased to present the topic of Private Equity Strategies 2015.

The lower middle market for mergers and acquisitions (businesses valued below $500 million) is white hot for owners of well-performing businesses. If you are considering a transition of your company in the next five to seven years, industry insiders across the board recommend taking a look at selling now, and quite possibly to a private equity firm. Private equity capital is at an all-time high, and combined with ready access to leverage at attractive rates, PE firms are able to compete with strategic buyers on valuation and offer an alternative that is particularly attractive to many private business owners.

Join us for a lively panel discussion on
• The state of the private equity market for acquisitions, including
- Why should I care? The benefits of selling to private equity
- What’s all the fuss about? A recap of recent private equity acquisition activity
- What’s fueling the fervor?
- Just how high are valuations?
- Which sectors are seeing the most activity and best valuations?
- How are Minnesota companies fairing in all of this?

• What you can do to cash in on the hot sellers’ market
- Getting your ducks in a row: how do I prepare for a sale to private equity?
- How should my business be structured to facilitate and maximize a deal?
- What are the key issues in negotiating a deal with private equity?
- Living with private equity: What should I expect after the transaction?
• Maximizing valuation by maximizing EBITDA
What the heck is EBITDA, and how does private equity really look at it?
- Can I add back my Ferrari? Adjustments to EBITDA
- What about extraordinary events? Pro forma EBITDA
- What about capital expenditures and working capital, how do they figure in?
