ESOP as a Tool for the Business Advisor:
Understanding when ESOP Financing is a Viable Exit Strategy

Monday, April 27, 2015 I 8:00am - 10:00am
Hofstra University Club

Your privately-held client is considering exit strategies in a challenging market with competition for buyers and has turned to you for advice on possible exits. Are you familiar enough with an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to discern whether your client would be a viable candidate for this structure and then to describe to your client the advantages of this possible exit strategy?

Please join us to hear nationally recognized ESOP advisors Richard Glassman, Esq. (ESOPPlus), Aziz El-Tahch (Stout, Risius Ross) and Manny Cafiero (Scales Industrial Technologies) discuss the hows and whys of ESOPs as a liquidity/exit planning transaction for shareholders of privately-held companies. The panel will discuss, among other things, the mechanics and timing of the ESOP transaction and the "almost too good to be true" tax benefits available to the selling shareholder and the company, the characteristics of a successful ESOP candidate, how ESOP-owned companies are valued and the experiences of a CFO in an ESOP transaction.

The event will commence with a breakfast at 8:00 am followed by our moderated discussion which will commence exactly at 8:30am (with Q&A to follow, time permitting) and the event will finish by 10:00am.
