Private Equity 101:What You Knew, Forgot & Can't Ignore

7:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Private Equity 101: What You Knew, Forgot, & Can't Ignore

OVERVIEW Private equity may often be the most viable option for business owners who want to sell their company or raise outside capital. Indeed, since 2000 private equity transactions have totaled $3.5 trillion of invested capital, 60% of which have been transactions involving middle market companies valued between $25 million and $1 billion. In 2011 alone, over 1000 middle market transactions were closed worth nearly $250 billion. Yet surprisingly, most business owners and many of their advisors know relatively little about how the private equity market works, other than what they read and hear in the popular press and media.

Come for breakfast and learn from a distinguished panel of private equity investors:

• How are the private equity markets structured?
• When should business owners consider tapping into private equity?
• What criteria do PE investors use to evaluate purchasing or investing in a business?
• What is the due diligence process like?
• What can business owners expect from their PE investors once an investment is made?

Private Equity 101 could easily be an entire semester course. You're going to get a valuable "Cliff Notes" version of PE 101 in a little over an hour and get many of your other questions answered. Is there a better way to spend an early Friday morning than joining us at ACG in Westchester?
