About ACG Portland

ACG Global

Founded in 1954, the Association for Corporate Growth (http://www.acg.org) is a global association for professionals involved in corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions. They recognize the multiple benefits of networking within an influential community of executives growing public and private companies worldwide. For 50 years, ACG members have focused on strategic activities that increase revenues, profits and, ultimately, stakeholder value. Today ACG stands at more than 10,000 members from corporations, private equity, finance, and professional service firms representing Fortune 500, Fortune 1000, FTSE 100, and mid-market companies in 51 chapters in North America and Europe.

ACG Portland

Members of ACG Portland are CEOs, CFOs and COOs of middle market or growing corporations, as well as members of the professional services companies that serve these corporations, such as private equity firms, banks, attorneys and accountants. Our Board of Directors are committed to maintaining a balance between corporate and professional service members (3:1 ratio) in the chapter, which currently approximates 150 members.

Through the exchange of ideas, policies, and experiences, ACG Portland promotes the professional interests of our members by:

  • Building their business and management skills related to strategic growth
  • Enhancing their network of contacts both inside and outside their respective industries
  • Exchanging experiences about successes and failures to help peers deal with growth issues
  • Enhancing awareness and comprehension of critical issues impacting growth potential
  • Strengthen the area business community

Throughout the year, our Chapter supports programs where business executives and resource experts share their experience and knowledge. The information provided and the relationships developed are invaluable in fostering corporate growth. These events and several social gatherings during the year provide our members and guests unparalleled networking opportunities.

Nationally, ACG's international conference, "InterGrowth," offers world-class speakers as well as the opportunity to network with peers from across the country and from other nations. Topics include valuation, financing, strategic planning, due diligence, divestitures, deal autopsies and economic trends. During the year, not only does ACG sponsor many other significant seminars and conferences around the country, but many of the chapters host special programs throughout the year.

Our past, current, and future program calendars and announcements are available on our web site. Information regarding membership and our membership application are also on our web site. Our monthly programs are held on the mezzanine level of the Downtown Embassy Suites Hotel from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on the second Tuesday of most months during the year.

For additional information on membership or programs please contact the appropriate Board member or our chapter administrator.

ACG Portland..."Go for Growth"
A rich cross section of senior executives, from a diverse cross section of industries sharing a dynamic member experience focused on strategies for growth.

Here is what leaders say about their experience:

Craig Sabina, CEO Summit Projects (Interactive Ad Agency): "I really like the networking.  I find little gems inside people's brains that I can translate into ideas I can use."  Member since 2006

Jim Boyle, President, Hideki Electronics:  "I really enjoy getting to connect with people outside my every day business.  Add the education I get from quality presenters, ACG delivers a great value."  Member since 2008

Bill Janner, President Can and Bottle:
"Networking is where it starts and ends.  I look at the clock at 5:15pm and my first reaction is the last thing I want to do is go network at ACG.  But once I get there everything clicks--it's like 'Cheers--everybody knows your name and I find interacting with intelligent career oriented people energizing.  It's relatively effortless--show up, get good stuff and go home."  Member since 2001
