ACG Raleigh-Durham
Mid-level Professional/ Young ACG Track
What is Young ACG? In the hopes of increasing our enrollment and participation by the next generation of business leaders, the Raleigh-Durham Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth has launched a Young ACG programming track to compliment its traditional and Executive-level programming. Young ACG events will be largely planned and executed by Young ACG memebers and will focus on professional development and networking programs specifically targeted at the needs and concerns of ACG members that are under 40.
Target Audience: Young ACG is for people under 40 years old that are interested in joining ACG and interested in networking and learning from their local peers. ACG is focused on creating educational and netoworking (not sales!) opportunities for anyone involved in middle-market corporate growth or deal-making initiatives. Typical members include: business owners/leaders, CEOs, CFOs, M&A professionals, corporate strategy & corporate development practioners, investment bankers, & private equity professionals.
Young ACG Programming: Young ACG programming includes a mix of professional development and networking opportunities targeted at early to mid-career professionals. Events will be supplementary to and compliment regular ACG programming and are planned by a committee of Young ACG members and the ACG Board of Directors. Please let us know if you’re interested in helping the Young ACG Committee.
How to join? Membership in the Young ACG is supplemental to membership in ACG, so the membership requirements and application process are the same. Please seek out any Young ACG member to discuss the process or contact Jason Layton @ jason.layton@ppdi.com with any questions. You are also encourgaged to attend any regular ACG event to meet current ACG members & experience ACG programming. Corporate memberships are also available for companies interested in sponsoring a minimum of 3 ACG members at any level. Please email Debra Michie @ acgrtp@nc.rr.com for details.
ACG is a professional development organization and NOT a business development organization. Accordingly, members are asked to focus on building relationships within the chapter and are prohibited from using their membership to directly solicit business and or jobs from other ACG members, guests and speakers. Please see our website for application details and process (www.acg.org/raleighdurham). Prospective Young ACG members are encouraged to attend an ACG event as a guest and/or contact Debra Michie (debra@acgraleighdurham.org) or Jason Layton (jason.layton@ppdi.com) for additional details.
Cost & Benefits: Annual membership dues for ACG are $300 and there is per-program fee to off-set the cost of hosting each event (generally $25-50). The greatest benefit of membership is access to your fellow members! Please see the ACG website for details on additional membership benefits, like a subscription to Mergers & Acquisitions magazine and access to ACG Jobsource – ACG’s online jobs database.
