OUR PANEL OF SPEAKERS:
Andre D. Guardi
Mr. Guardi joined B. Riley & Co. in 2003 as part of the firm's merger with Friend & Co., where he was Managing Director of the Irvine, CA investment bank since 1992. Mr. Guardi has acted as an advisor to many successful emerging growth and middle market companies in the technology, consumer products and services, industrial products and services, healthcare, manufacturing and distribution industries. Mr. Guardi received a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Utah, where he was an All-American football player before entering the NFL. He was also named an Academic All-American every year of his college career. Mr. Guardi is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
John W. Felix
John Felix is a senior vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and a director of D. E. Shaw Direct Capital, L.L.C. Prior to joining the D. E. Shaw group in 2005, Mr. Felix served as the managing principal of Banc of America Mezzanine Capital LLC, where he was responsible for underwriting structured senior debt, mezzanine debt, and bridge financing across a variety of industry sectors. Before that, he worked at Banc of America Securities, Inc., where he led that firm’s debt origination efforts in Australasia. Mr. Felix began his fourteen-year tenure with Bank of America Corporation in its investment banking practice. He currently serves on the board of directors of several portfolio companies. Mr. Felix received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Greg Miller-Jones
Mr. Miller-Jones is an Originator with GE Capital, Americas. Specifically, he originates asset based, cash flow and structured finance transactions for GE Capital Corporate Finance. Greg is responsible for sourcing new business throughout Southern California and the Southwestern United States. With facility sizes beginning at $25 million, GE Corporate Finance provides financing needs to middle market companies throughout North America for working capital, growth, mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings and turnarounds. Mr. Miller-Jones earned his MBA from Northeastern University as well as a BS in Economics and a BA in Communication from the University of Utah.
Chris Britt
Chris Britt is a founding partner of Marwit Capital Partners II, LP and Marwit Capital, LLC, a Southern California based lower middle market private equity buyout firm with a Western U.S. geographical focus. He is one of two Managing Partners with responsibility for overall fund management and origination, execution and harvesting of buyouts, recapitalizations and growth investments. Since joining Marwit in 1994, Mr. Britt has initiated, closed, and managed buyout and growth investments in more than 35 portfolio companies in a diverse range of industries. MCP II is $184 million of committed capital and includes a portfolio of 10 platform companies. Marwit is currently raising $250 million for its third fund Marwit Capital Partners III. Mr. Britt holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
