ACG SAN FRANCISCO
Description of Volunteer Committees
Current for 2012
The San Francisco Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth ("ACG") is a non-profit organization comprised of senior business leaders in the San Francisco Bay Area that are dedicated to fostering growth for companies and charity organizations throughout our region. The activities of the ACG are carried out primarily by a number of Volunteer Committees that are for the most part always seeking new volunteers. ACG members who are interested in serving on any of these Committees are encouraged to contact the Committee Chairs as listed below.
• The Growth Awards Committee is comprised of two components: The "For-Profit" and the "Non-Profit" ACG award. This award is given annually, typically in the Fall, to the most deserving for-profit company and the most deserving non-profit charity. Committee members select and interview candidates for the award, and then select the winner. A lunch event is then planned where the awards are presented. Last year’s (2011) corporate winner was Equator Coffees & Teas and the non-profit winner was Playworks.
• The West Coast Corporate Growth Conference Committee hosts the largest single event sponsored by ACG San Francisco. This annual M&A - related Conference is typically held in the first quarter of each year. This Committee plans the event, arranges for speakers and panels, and works with the Private Equity, Service Provider and Investment Banking communities to make this event the large and growing success it is every year.
2013 Committee is now forming. For more information, contact: Rob Robinson, Silverbelt Investments (650) 292-7682

• The Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, another relatively new committee to ACG, is interested in helping non-profits and for-profits that serve local communities. Emphasis is placed on those companies and non-profits that target areas where economic growth is most needed. This Committee works with various organizations to link the skill set of the ACG membership with companies and non-profits that most need our help.

• The Membership Committee helps recruit new members to the organization as well as retain existing members. The San Francisco Chapter of ACG requires all new members to meet certain membership criteria (primarily based on seniority in the business community), and the Membership Committee approves all new members. This Committee is also charged with working with existing Members to help them make the most out of their membership.
