February 9, 2011 Chapter Meeting

"De-Nile" Is More than Just a River in Egypt Is Your Optimism Justified?

"Banks are lending again."  "The fourth quarter was good." "Growth in profits is driving the market." As we read all of these headlines, we hope that the turnaround for our company is just around the corner. But is that optimism justified?

A December survey by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) shows that the recovery being felt at larger companies is largely out of reach for mid-sized and smaller companies.  In fact, over one third of the respondents had lower sales in Q4, 2010 than in previous periods.

The panel will identify the early warning signs that the recovery may not be "just around the corner" for your company and discusses key items to focus on to improve the potential for achieving your goals. And we will identify how to determine if your company is actually in the "Zone of Insolvency" and your responsibilities as an officer or director should that happen.

Your panel of experts:
Al Davis, Principal, Revitalization Partners, LLC
Bill Lawrence, Principal, Revitalization Partners, LLC
Heidi Anderson, Attorney, Lane Powell

April 14, 2010: Leadership – The Inside Story

A Special Interactive Presentation Featuring

David Winkler, CEO
Valeo Consulting Group, Inc

When looked at from the outside, leadership is often described in terms of traits, characteristics or styles. People read books and take courses to become better leaders, but increasing one’s knowledge about leadership fails to give access to being a great leader. Access is what’s missing in contemporary leadership development.

This presentation introduces you to a radically new approach that provides access to being a leader and the effective exercise of leadership. We will look inside our worldview (model of reality) to reveal how it shapes and constrains perceptions, emotions, creativity and action.

This talk is not about tips and techniques, nor is it a discussion of traits and styles. Instead, this conversation will offer you insights into being an exceptional leader… from the inside out.
