About ACG

Founded in 1954, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) is the leading global association for professionals involved in corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions.

Today ACG stands at over 12,000 members from corporations, private equity, finance and professional service firms representing Fortune 500, Fortune 1000, FTSE 100, and mid-market companies in 53 chapters in North America and Europe.

Each year, ACG host a dynamic InterGrowth conference.  ACG InterGrowth is a one-of-a-kind event that has become the must attend conference of the year for middle market dealmakers. With exciting speakers and unlimited networking opportunities, your firm stands to benefit from attending the world’s most efficient, productive and valuable dealmaking event.   Learn more…

The local Association for Corporate Growth is unique in its mission:

  • To be the premier organization in metro St. Louis focused on profitable corporate growth and development (including acquisitions, divestitures, internal growth and alliances)
  • To promote members’ professional and business interests through outstanding programs, networking and activities of the international ACG and affiliate chapters.

The St. Louis chapter was founded two decades ago and has grown to over 260 executives.  Monthly breakfast meetings are held on third Fridays of the program year typically from 7:30 to 9:00 AM at Washington University Knight Center.  Monthly mailings provide meeting detail, required reservation information and background on the keynote speaker and his or her company.

Quarterly Corporate Development Sessions are organized locally to address growth challenges during a more in-depth 90-minute intensive class. Meeting sites vary.   See our chapter calendar for more details on all dozen continuous-education meetings that the St. Louis chapter hosts.

All meeting speakers are clearly leaders in their fields.  Studying growth tactics in multiple industries offers fresh perspectives and prompts creative thought about daily challenges in each member's unique spheres.

Members' skills are advanced and their titles are typified in these four categories:

  1. Top executives in their operating co. divisions of administration, finance, development and planning.
  2. Principals in professional service firms such as attorneys, accountants, consultants, deal makers, investment bankers -- all specializing in M&A
  3. Financiers including commercial bankers, cash flow lenders, leasing cos. & asset-based lenders
  4. Private Equity investors (active buyout funds, venture capital, pledge funds w/ at least one portfolio company,  mezzanine funds and accredited angel investors

ACG St. Louis won the “Outstanding Corporate Focus Award” which was presented to the chapter at the ACG InterGrowth® conference in Phoenix, AZ in May 2007.  This honor recognizes the emphasis St. Louis places on recruiting and retaining operating company executive members.
