Topic descriptions:
1)  Congress approved the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act ("JOBS Act") on March 27th, and President Obama is expected to sign it into law.  The Act is designed to stimulate economic growth and provide opportunities for small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs by improving access to public capital markets. The Act will substantially influence the IPO process for companies with less than $1 billion in annual revenues by lowering the costs of going public and reducing some of the usual SEC regulatory burdens, such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.  The JOBS Act will be significant for businesses that are considering going public.  Join us for an in-depth discussion on the JOBS Act and the effects it could have on your business.

2)  There were many important business-related issues addressed during the 2012 Utah Legislative Session, such as business regulation, unemployment taxes, air quality and firearms in the workplace. Some of these issues received little media attention but could profoundly affect your business.  Additionally, the Utah Legislature has big plans for 2013.  How can you protect your business during the upcoming legislative interim study sessions and the 2013 Legislative Session? Join us as we discuss how CFOs can stay apprised of issues before the Utah Legislature and best assist their companies as they navigate the issues addressed by the Legislature.
