Private Equity "Must-Haves" and More
April 23, 2014
Partner, Deal Origination at Huron Capital
Operating Partner at Huron Capital, Former CEO of Ross Education
Huron Capital is a Michigan-based private equity firm investing in lower middle-market companies, and has raised over $1.1 billion in committed equity capital dedicated to this market. Huron’s primary transaction types include management buyouts, corporate carve-outs, recapitalizations, family successions and industry market-entry strategies with transaction values up to $200 million.
Huron partner Gretchen Perkins will discuss what the firm looks for when targeting companies in which to invest. Specifically, Gretchen will discuss the attributes that Huron seeks as "must have", attributes that are "desirable" and attributes which just don’t matter. Gretchen will highlight several examples of investments made by Huron, what specifically attracted them to the investment and the results to date.
Joining Gretchen for this presentation will be Paul Mitchell, currently an operating partner with Huron Capital Partners. Paul served as an executive within Ross Education, a Michigan-based private for-profit career school group, for 28 years, including seven years as the CEO of Ross Education when his partners sought an exit from the company. Huron Capital saw a similar potential provided the capital and support to both enable the exit of those partners while also supporting the development and growth of the company. Paul then lead the successful transition of the company from Huron Capital Partners to JLL Partners, a New York City private equity group, and remained as Chairman and CEO, and then the Chairman of the Board.
ACG is where local DEALS are discussed, dissected and, quite often, done. Simply put, ACG is BUSINESS NETWORKING for grownups.
