ACG Cup is a case study competition designed to give students from leading Western Michigan MBA programs real world experience and invaluable insight into mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity.

Teams from each school analyze complex business cases and present strategies including valuations, identifying capital markets, developing merger/acquisition strategic alternatives and financing options. Prominent professionals from the corporate community and ACG membership apply their industry expertise as judges for the competition. The winning team is awarded the prestigious ACG Cup title and a $5,000 cash prize.

The Final Round of the 2010 ACG Cup competition will be held on Saturday, February 27 beginning promptly at 9:45 AM.

GVSU is hosting the final round at GVSU’s Hager Auditorium, Cook Heath Sciences (CHS) Building at 301 Michigan St. SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49401

ACG Members and interested parties are invited to join participants from Davenport University, Western Michigan University and Grand Valley State University for the presentations.

No registrations are necessary, but the doors will close promptly at 9:45 a.m. as the presentations begin.

On March 18th, the winners of the inaugural ACG Cup were announced at ACGWM’s Outstanding Growth Awards Dinner. Nick Adamy of Adamy Valuation Partners, who served as a judge and sponsor for ACG Cup, made the announcement in front of more than 300 guests in attendance.

"The judges were impressed with all of the teams," said Adamy. "However, the winning team was chosen for a number of reasons, including better overall preparation, greater depth of written materials and analysis, stronger grasp of the fundamental issues behind their presentation and the ability to think on their feet."

The winner of the inaugural ACG Cup and $5000 prize went to Supriya Hegde, Doug Fischer, and Scott Setlock of Grand Valley State University.
