Introduce us to your day job, title and responsibilities.
As the Vice President of Facilities and Procurement at BlackLine, I’m involved in a few administrative efforts. I’ve created a Facility function in the organization that oversees all of our global facilities. We now have a team around the world that focuses on this area. It’s amazing how much effort and detail is necessary to manage where we work every day! I’ve also created and am continually building our procurement function. There are so many key efficiency activities and requirements that surround the procurement area that are critical as you continue on a growth path. In addition, I‘m our risk manager and manage our activities in this area.
What inspired you to pursue a job in this industry?
Actually, I’ve been a CFO for most of my career. My finance background has helped me so much as I transitioned to my current responsibilities. I’ve been CFO of a couple of public companies and pride myself on working with smaller companies and operational efficiencies to grow and scale companies through their rapid growth.
Why was it important for you to be involved in ACG 101 at the Board level?
I love being part of a team that is looking to do something productive and enhance the community. At ACG 101, our goal is to connect people to accomplish good things that will help grow the business community.
Describe your current responsibilities on the Board, if applicable.
I’m the Treasurer of ACG 101. We work towards goals and objectives related to membership, event profitability and cash management that I really enjoying being part of.
What is your favorite thing about ACG 101?
My favorite thing(s) are the people. We have some very dedicated and compassionate people who want ACG 101 to succeed and be the best among the entire ACG network.
What excites you most about the direction of ACG 101, and how will you contribute to it?
We have been in a mode of enhancing various aspects of ACG 101. We understand you need to keep evolving to be relevant and were making some great strides in this area.

1 –Years ago, my wife and I won a car. Very lucky person. 2 – I’ve been to one World Series game in my life – Kirk Gibson hit his home run in 1988 to win game 1 – incredible experience. 3 – I drove around the US with a friend after college. Once in a life time experience. By the way, we’re still friends!

Charles “Chuck” Best has over 30 years of experience as a finance and operational executive helping companies strategically grow their businesses. Chuck began working for BlackLine, Inc. in 2011 in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer and currently holds the position of Vice President Procurement and Facilities. BlackLine is a cloud based company that offers a suite of modules to companies on a subscription basis that build efficiencies and additional accountability into basic financial functions including financial close processes. BlackLine is a rapidly growing company that currently has over 2,200 clients, 200,000 users in over 120 countries. Prior to BlackLine, Chuck was the Chief Financial Officer of two publicly traded companies, both with international operations. His broad experience spans from managing and leadership to hands-on, daily operational skills. Chuck’s success includes implementing and managing internal controls and processes that support rapidly growing companies with his communication skills, project management capabilities, system integration experience and a disciplined, bottom line approach to expense management. Chuck is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University.
