Meet the Board: Corey Mazza, Vice President, J.P. Morgan Private Bank

Introduce us to your day job, title and responsibilities.

I am a Vice President in J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank, advising business owners and their families across all areas of their personal balance sheets. Our team has a focus on M&A as we have guided more than 30 clients through every step of the sales process to private equity, strategic buyers, as well as navigating IPO’s and ESOPs. Our goal is to deliver an incredibly high-touch, customized private banking relationship for our clients so they can focus on the things that matter most.

What inspired you to pursue a job in this industry?

In undergrad, I was working at an investment bank and loved the idea of continuing to be engaged with clients long after their deals closed. Developing life-long relationships and being your client’s first call in times of crisis or to celebrate life events.

Provide a short bio (or a link to it on your company website)

Born and raised in Thousand Oaks, I attended Harvard for undergrad, studying Government and was a member of the football team, earning All-American honors. I went on to play one season professionally in Europe before heading off to join the Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer. I served for just under 6 years and led a rifle platoon on a combat deployment to Sangin, Afghanistan.

After the Marine Corps I completed my MBA in Investment Management from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2017, I was a Private Wealth Advisor for Goldman Sachs in their Los Angeles office where I advised clients on portfolio construction and pre-sale planning.

My wife, three sons, and I love being back in Southern California are here for the long haul!

Why was it important for you to be involved in ACG 101 at the Board level?

I had been attending ACG events throughout Southern California for years and I loved the camaraderie developed amongst attendees and members.

Describe your current responsibilities on the Board, if applicable.

I am currently on the membership committee, seeking out ways to consistently improve the experience of being a member of ACG 101.
