Introduce us to your day job, title and responsibilities.

I currently serve as a Director/Business Development Officer in the Commercial Banking Group with Union Bank.  I joined Union Bank in June 2011 and deal with owners, CFO’s and CEO’s of companies with revenues above $50MM.  I am humbled to have received recognition as the Top Producing Business Development Officer for Union Bank Commercial Banking Group for the past three consecutive years.  I assist my clients’ banking needs with lines of credit, term loans, capital market needs, FX, cash management, treasury needs, global trade needs, private banking, equipment finance, etc.  My lending ranges from $3MM to $50MM with syndications that go beyond $500MM.

What inspired you to pursue a job in this industry?

I have been a banking professional for nearly 20 years, although I have been in the finance industry for the past 30 years.  I started out as a stockbroker for nine years in the 90’s, then as the early 2000’s came around, I was pursued by US Bank recruiters for about two years.  Eventually, I succumbed to the commercial banking industry and have not looked back since.

Why was it important for you to be involved in ACG 101 at the Board level?

After about a year of attending ACG 101 meetings, I was approached by the existing board members.  They saw a good fit with the connections I held with CEOs and CFOs in the chapter’s territory and felt I could be instrumental in evolving the programs, specifically the morning programs and panels.  I was, and still continue to be, very excited to contribute to the growth and success of ACG 101.

Describe your current responsibilities on the Board, if applicable.

I was the previous Programs Chair and currently partner on our annual Stars of the 101 event.

What is your favorite thing about ACG 101?

My favorite thing about ACG 101 is the camaraderie with the members and non-members through our great events.    Over the past 10 years of being involved with ACG 101, I have developed many great friendships and through our events, we have the opportunity to talk, touch base, catch up and network about local companies and businesses.

What excites you most about the direction of ACG 101, and how will you contribute to it?

When I joined ACG 101 more than 10 years ago, it was very small and just beginning to change direction by adding more meet-ups and starting panels featuring local CEO/CFO’s.  We started with about 25 members and held very intimate gatherings, and now our events regularly draw 100-200 member and non-member attendees.  We continue to evolve our events, webinars and offerings to meet the growing needs of our members and non-member participants.  Union Bank is a founding sponsor of the annual event, ACG 101 Stars of the 101 and I look forward to my continued involvement in this important event to recognize and reward local companies for their remarkable achievements.
