Ed serves as the Hampton Roads Market Leader for BDO Norfolk. With more than 40 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and tax, he provides general business advisory services to clients, maintains key client relationships, as well as providing consulting services with various aspects of mergers and acquisitions of closely-held businesses.

Prior to serving as the Hampton Roads Market Leader Ed served as the Office Managing Partner for the Norfolk office.  He has served clients in multiple industries with a primary concentration of government contractors, automobile dealerships and manufacturers.  Ed is currently a member of the BDO Government Contracting Industry Team having previously served as its co-national industry lead as well as a member of the Automobile Dealership Industry Team where he often advises clients on operational aspects of dealerships and both the buy and sell side of dealership transactions.

Patrick Bisceglia is a Managing Director at BDO Capital Advisors, LLC, a leading middle market investment bank, FINRA/SIPC member firm and affiliated company of BDO USA, P.A., a Delaware professional service corporation. He serves as Global Co-Head of Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) investment banking for BDO, an international network of public accounting, tax and advisory firms that spans more than 160 countries and territories with over 111,000 people working out of more than 1,800 offices.

Patrick has spent his entire career advising middle market companies across a broad spectrum of corporate finance matters, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and debt and equity financings. He spent 10 years in the firm’s Boston office before leading the expansion of BDO Capital to Richmond where he is focused on managing BDO Capital’s relationships and clientele throughout the Atlantic and Southeast regions.

Patrick graduated with Honors from the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary with a BBA in Finance and a minor in Economics.

Matt Malone has over 25 years of experience in investing and building companies with a specific focus on skilled trade and blue-collar businesses. Currently, Malone serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Groundworks, the nation's leading foundation repair and water management solutions company, headquartered in Virginia Beach, Va. Groundworks has over 50 branches with more than 4,400 employees across the country and is a seven-time winner of the INC. 5000 award.

Prior to Groundworks, Malone was the Owner and CEO of PetroChem Recovery Services, an emergency response remediation services business, Owner and CEO of Shipyard Staffing, a skilled trades staffing business for marine construction, and Owner and CEO of A-1 Plumbing. Malone also serves as Founder and Managing Partner at Succession Capital Partners, a specialty-investment firm focusing on both operating companies and real estate assets in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S.

Malone was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 Mid-Atlantic award winner by Ernst & Young. He earned his Master of Philosophy in Finance from the University of Glasgow and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College.

Kara Moran is the President of Suffolk Chemical Company and Vice-President of Suffolk Sales and Service. Both companies are third-generation, certified small, women-owned businesses specializing in heavy industrial chemicals and located in Suffolk, Virginia. 

Currently, she serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the Virginia Council on Women and on the Board of Directors of Virginia’s List. Her past boards include Sister Cities of Virginia Beach and Vanguard Landing. Her shared passion for community service both at home, and internationally, has taken her to places like the Philippines, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, and Italy.

Kara grew up in Suffolk and graduated with a B.A in International Relations and Political Science from Randolph-Macon College.

Wynne, Jr. is the Chief Executive Officer of Fortis Solutions Group, a leading provider of high impact printed packaging solutions (labels, flexible packaging, shrink sleeves, folding cartons and label applicators) servicing customers across the U.S. and Canada from 22 manufacturing locations. Prior to entering the labeling business in 2010, John held various positions within the investment banking units of Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley in New York.

John received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business.
