As the founder of Bowstring Advisors, a division of Citizens Capital Markets (formerly CHILDS Advisory Partners), Jim’s intent was to create a truly differentiated middle-market investment bank delivering on a promise of exemplary client outcomes through in-depth sector knowledge and expertise, senior-led transaction teams and a rigorous transaction process.

Being a serial entrepreneur himself, Jim truly understands the owner-mentality and the uniqueness of each and every transaction.

Today, Bowstring Advisors has offices across the U.S. and is one of the fastest growing boutique investment banks in the nation. Bowstring Advisors (as CHILDS) was named the 2016 Boutique Investment Banking Firm of the Year by The M&A Advisor.

Jim has extensive experience in advising middle-market companies in mergers & acquisitions and capital raising. He has personally led over 75 transactions in his career.

Prior to founding Bowstring Advisors, Jim was CEO and Co-Founder of Impact Innovations, a $100 million IT services provider. Under Jim’s leadership, the company raised over $30 million in capital and grew to over 700 employees nationwide prior to its sale in 2004.

In the mid-1990s, Jim served as Vice President of Investment Banking at Robinson Humphrey, a division of Salomon Smith Barney. He started his career at Arthur Andersen in Atlanta.

Jim is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the 1987 NCAA champion tennis team, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. He lives in Atlanta and is a board member of the UGA Foundation, the Marist School and Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit School.
