A Message from Craig Miller
CEO, ACG Chicago, Inc.
We have announced my retirement during a number of events over this year but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the ACG community for 25 years of great times on committees, boards and my last 11+ years as CEO. This really is only a few paragraphs to thank you, thank the leaders who have supported me, and to link you to the ACG Chicago CEO Posting.
ACG Chicago now hosts over 130 speakers and over 5,000 attendees annually. We continue to have the strongest financial base of all ACG cities and second largest number of members. All of this is due to you and the great community of professionals we get to network with every day. I really do believe the quality and strength of the organization comes from this so thank you for being a part of ACG.
I want to specifically thank the 100+ leaders on committees and the board this year, Terry, Lou Ann, Justin and the many other leaders from previous years who have collaborated to bring all of us innovative, entrepreneurial projects including two+ decades of: Capital Connections; alternative energy, international and industry conferences; Women's and NextGen Networks, thousands of pages of thought leadership in our Journals; CDO dinners; Corporate Authors Series; Summer Socials; holiday and anniversary celebrations; Sunrise Sessions; jobs programs; Entrepreneurship Bashes; and diversity / minority business investment projects.
Many of these programs still drive growth and investment in the middle market (in additional to our standards like the Market Trends Breakfast and private equity luncheons). Other successful efforts have run their cycle. And one or two others still need the passion and commitment to blossom into great opportunities. These and other new ideas that I'm sure will constantly arise from you and others in the ACG community need a new CEO to champion their development.
The Board has engaged Paul Belford, a Principal at JDG Associates, Ltd., to conduct the search for a CEO who shares the passion, energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and vision to build more opportunities and access for you.
Please review the posting (click here) and contact Paul with nominations or questions about the placement.
Finally, thank you for the recent Lifetime Achievement and City of Chicago recognition. I am humbled to be included. While my days will turn to personal projects, travel and a new grandchild, I look forward to seeing more new and great ACG Chicago developments in the future.
Thank you again,
CEO, ACG Chicago, Inc.
P.S. We continue to need experience and expertise in our committees to build the best programs possible. Please let me, Terry or someone in ACG Chicago Leadership (click here for the lists) know if you would like to join a committee.
