ACG's monthly member luncheons are the one meeting per month where you can efficiently network with Cincinnati's transaction ecosystem.  Attendance typically includes 100+ accountants, attorneys, bankers, consultants, investment bankers and various sources of capital from family offices to mezz debt to PE.  Topics are focused exclusively on some aspect of deal-making, often from business owners and corporate management who have completed successful deals driving corporate growth.

President

Lisa Knutson is president of Scripps Networks, a division of The E.W. Scripps Company. She oversees the operations of its national entertainment networks: ION, Bounce, Court TV, Laff, Grit, ION Mystery, TrueReal and Defy TV.

Prior to Scripps’ acquisition of ION Media in January 2021, Lisa served as Scripps’ chief financial officer, leading the company’s financial operations, corporate development, enterprise-wide strategic planning and managing company-wide functions, including IT and risk management.

Lisa was previously Scripps’ chief strategy officer and, before that, served as chief administrative officer from 2011 to 2017, overseeing corporate development and strategic planning and managing company-wide functions including consumer insights, human resources and information technology. She played a key role in the merger-and-spinoff deal between Scripps and Journal Communications in 2015, including overseeing the transition and integration processes.

Lisa served as Scripps senior vice president of human resources. Before joining the company in 2005, she was a vice president at Fifth Third Bank.

A graduate of Miami University, Lisa serves as a corporate director for WesBanco, Inc. in Wheeling, West Virginia, and is a member of the audit, compensation and nominating committee. She is a corporate director and on the audit committee of BlueAnt Media, a privately held company based in Toronto, Canada.

Knutson was honored in 2022 by CableFax as one of media’s most powerful women and by MultiChannel News as a Wonder Woman for high-performing women executives in TV, streaming, advertising and more. News industry publisher Cynopsis Media named her as one of the 2021 Top Women in Media. She was also recognized in 2020 as a Broadcast Best Finance Leader by Radio + Television Business Report.

SVP, Corporate Communications & Investor Relations

Carolyn Pione Micheli is senior vice president of corporate communications and investor relations for The E.W. Scripps Company.

 

Carolyn handles long-term communications planning and directs the execution of those plans. She is responsible for the company's image both externally and internally. She works closely with the CEO and directs executive communications, board communications, media relations and employee communications. She also oversees The Scripps National Spelling Bee.

 

In the investor relations portion of her role with Scripps, she provides counsel to outside analysts and shareholders, executive leadership and the Board of Directors on all investor relations and communications-related issues.

 

Prior to coming to Scripps, she was communications director for CincyTech, a public-private seed-stage investor focused on startup technology companies in Southwest Ohio. From 1996-2008, she worked as a journalist in a variety of roles, including business editor for The Cincinnati Enquirer. She began her career at The Associated Press in 1991.

 

She is a member of the leadership team at Saturday Hoops, a program focused on helping underprivileged youth build their self-esteem and set goals, and runs its Huddle program every Saturday from January – May. She serves on the board of the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati and is a member of its Racial Justice Committee, and she is lead trustee of the Scripps Howard Fund.

 

She is a 1991 graduate of Miami University of Ohio and received a master’s degree in mass communication from Louisiana State University in 1996.
