ACG Columbus: CARES Act and other COVID-19 Relief Programs: Q&A Webinar with Subject Matter Experts

Please join this FREE webinar on Monday, April 13, at 12 pm eastern. As many of you are learning, the various benefits and requirements of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and other government COVID-19 relief programs are cumbersome to navigate. We've all seen basic overviews of these programs in our inboxes lately, but ACG Columbus has gathered three boots-on-the-ground experts - an SBA lender, an attorney, and a tax advisor - to drill down on the details and answer specific questions from business leaders trying to understand and implement the new laws.

Moderator:

Christine Hesse, Lead Principal, Federal Government Relations and Policy
Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP

Christine will bring an "inside the Beltway" perspective to the webinar and will share what is likely to happen with future stimulus packages.

She leads the federal government relations practice of Calfee, Halter & Griswold's Washington D.C. office. A veteran lobbyist and seasoned professional, Christine has spent more than twenty years representing Fortune 500 companies on legislative and regulatory issues on Capitol Hill and before federal agencies and downtown business groups. She has worked on major pieces of legislation on behalf of clients, including the Dodd-Frank Act and the three latest stimulus bills. Prior to joining the private sector, she worked as a counsel for two U.S. Senate Committees, as well as staffed the Ohio General Assembly and Ohio Attorney General's office.

Panel Members:

Keith Bufano, SVP, SBA Lending Executive
First Commonwealth Bank

Keith has 32 years of experience in SBA lending including 9 years managing the SBA Disaster Program (EIDL) and 3 years managing the direct and guaranteed loan programs with total values exceeding $16 billion for the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is an internal SBA certified national instructor for governmental lending programs directly responsible for training SBA agency employees.  Keith has spent 20 years building, managing and leading several SBA lenders from coast to coast.

Laura Hult, Partner
Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP

As a partner with both the Commercial and Public Finance practice and Corporate and Capital Markets practice, Laura represents clients in private equity, mezzanine lending, senior lending, and institutional and family office investment transactions. Her practice includes sell-side and buy-side M&A, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, ESOP financings and other liquidity events.

David Petrill, Tax Partner
RSM US LLP

As a Tax Partner for the RSM Columbus office, David primarily provides tax planning and risk management services to middle market and Fortune 1000 companies.   Over the past month David has primarily been working with clients to assist them with Covid-19 shocks and the tax and loan aspects of the recent Federal, States, and International legislation.

David was previously with a Big Four Firm, and has led the tax department of a Fortune 1000 company after it was acquired by a private equity firm and through its initial public offering.

He has extensive experience with change in tax accounting methods, international structuring, customs and duties, audit management, risk and control documentation, financial statement disclosures, budgeting and forecasting, tax automation and treasury.

Each expert will provide a high-level summary of important items in the law, and then they will address questions from participants. We encourage participants to submit questions in advance by emailing acgcolumbus@acg.org; questions may also be submitted during the webinar itself.

In the unlikely event the guidance release is delayed, this session may be delayed accordingly. We appreciate your flexibility and will keep you updated via email on any changes.
