Vivek Kamath

Partner

Vivek is a Partner at Tyton Partners. Vivek co-manages the firm’s investment banking practice having joined the practice at its inception. Vivek has 15 years of experience in investment banking, specializing in the education, knowledge management, and corporate training markets. Over his career, Vivek has advised on transactions with an aggregate enterprise value of >$3.5B. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Vivek was a Managing Director of the education and training practice at Berkery Noyes, a mergers and acquisitions firm serving the information industry.

At Berkery Noyes, Vivek managed all aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions for the firm’s education practice and participated in over 150 transactions across all segments of the information, media, and technology markets. In addition, he helped manage the firm’s recruiting initiatives for analysts and associates.

Over his career, Vivek has worked on several notable transactions, including Apollo Education Group’s divestiture of Institute of Professional Development (IPD) to Helix Education, the sale of Editure Professional Development to Weld North, the merger of Compass Knowledge Holdings with Embanet; the sale of National Geographic School Publishing to Cengage Learning, and the sale of Psychological Services, Inc., to ABRY Partners.

Vivek is often quoted in education trade magazines and has participated as a speaker and moderator at many industry conferences. He is an active participant and member of the SIIA, EDNET, EDUCAUSE, ATP, ISTE, BETT and ASPCU. He holds a BS from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University
