Jenny Gottschalk, a Partner, joined EIV Capital in 2009.  With more than 30 years of energy sector experience, Jenny’s engineering background and operational experience complements the financial expertise within the firm.  She evaluates opportunities, stewards the deals she leads, and assists across the portfolio with technical and operational expertise. As part of those responsibilities, she provides IT and cybersecurity guidance to EIV’s portfolio companies, and oversees those areas for EIV itself.  Prior to EIV, Jenny was an investor, owner and executive in a number of successful entrepreneurial energy companies involved in natural gas, crude oil and refined products segments of the industry, including leading a portfolio investment in the first EIV Fund. Jenny enjoys working with other entrepreneurs to help them realize their vision. Her early career was with Accenture, with progressive experience culminating as an Associate Partner, where she worked as a consultant to energy companies in the upstream, midstream, downstream, and petrochemical sectors both domestically and internationally.

Jenny is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.   She earned both a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Plan II, the honors liberal arts program.  In her time away from the office, Jenny devotes time to family, non-profit service, and travel.

James Morrison joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in December 2019 from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Distinguished Technologist - Cyber Security in the office of the North America CTO. James spent 22 years with the FBI as a Senior Computer Scientist, focused on cyber security. He worked on numerous national security and criminal intrusion investigations, as an active Cyber Security Expert, identifying security vulnerabili-ties and implementing solutions. He was a Regional Program Manager for the FBI Computer Science program and Adjunct Faculty Member for the FBI, teaching multiple classes at Quantico and internationally.

Kevin has been in the information technology field since 1997 and leads the firm’s IT infrastructure and security practice. He specializes in government, not-for-profit, private entity, higher education, and health care clients. His areas of practice include IT security assessments; penetration testing; PCI DSS assessments; HIPAA compliance auditing; HITRUST readiness and validation assessments, strategic technology planning; disaster recovery and business continuity planning; policies, procedures, and documentation development; and project management. In addition, he has designed and conducted technology assessments based on the internationally recognized ISO/IEC 27001/2, NIST, and COBIT standards, and has served as technical counsel on hundreds of technology security projects.

Chuck Johnson joined Fifth Third Bank in August 2020, as Senior Vice President in the newly established Houston Middle Market group.  He has more than 10 years of Relationship Banking experience that includes providing senior debt for M&A transactions, business expansions and working capital needs.  Prior to his banking career, he worked as an electrical engineer for design and manufacturing companies for more than 10 years.  Chuck’s unique experience as an engineer and Banker enables him to develop customized banking solutions for Middle Market companies.  As a relationship manager and trusted advisor, he has a thoughtful approach to helping clients meet their objectives. 

Chuck currently serves as Treasurer for the Houston Association for Corporate Growth and has been a board member since 2017.  He joined the Tellepsen Family Downtown Houston YMCA board in 2016 and has held several roles including Campaign Chair and Board Chair.  He has also been involved in the Houston Rodeo and supporting his son’s activities in Boy Scouts and Future Farmers of America.  Chuck earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
