ACG Los Angeles Welcomes Seasoned Business Executive

Michael Rivera Brings M&A Background to Middle Market Association

(LOS ANGELES – November 12, 2019) The Association for Corporate Growth® Los Angeles Chapter is pleased to announce that Michael Rivera has joined as its Chief Executive Officer.

"Growing companies require the marriage of a visionary and an investor," said Suzie Doran, ACG Los Angeles Chairman of the Board of Directors ad Partner with SingerLewak. "Michael's appreciation for that foundational relationship is evidenced by his success as an entrepreneur, experience in private equity and venture capital, and as a capital fund founder. His rich understanding of the critical importance of relationships in dealmaking equips him with the strategic tools to grow our chapter's presence and influence. "

Prior to joining ACG LA, Rivera developed, launched and oversaw the University of Southern California Marshall Venture Capital Fund and the school's Founder Central Initiative, where he invested equity in early-stage ventures and readied entrepreneurs for success through training, tailored course programming, and both hands-on and online training. Michael will continue as an adjunct faculty member at USC Marshall teaching in the graduate program. Michael is a long-time Planet Fitness franchisee and contributed to the chain's strategic growth in California and Wisconsin. Previously, Rivera spent more than a decade as Partner at 6th Street Investments & 6th Street Ventures, where he managed deal sourcing, due diligence, and legal and strategic communication for the private equity and venture capital firms. Rivera has also worked in commodity trading and in government affairs.

"I like to think that my career was built for this moment." Rivera said. "From sourcing deals, to deploying capital, and supporting entrepreneurial success, my career provides me with the collective experiences to both connect with and relate to ACG's members. I look forward to building on the work of its generous volunteers, record of relevant programming and robust networking."

ACG LA boasts more than 600 members who include middle market corporate executives, commercial and investment bankers, private equity investors and legal, accounting and finance professionals. It hosts more than 30 annual events, including its ACG LA Business Conference.

"I'm grateful to the search committee that ensured we considered an array of talented candidates," Doran said. "Michael's depth of experience and fresh perspective position the chapter well for its next phase of growth."   We are excited to welcome Michael into his new role effective November 14.
