Strategic Pricing Solutions (SPS)
Owner/Founder

Scott Francis formed Strategic Pricing Solutions (SPS) in 2005 to help mid-size companies increase profitability by more effectively managing their pricing disciplines.  SPS has served clients ranging from startups to mature firms with multi-billion dollars in revenue.  Industries served include have included industrial manufacturing and distribution, chemicals, entertainment, healthcare, information services, life sciences, retail, and aviation, among others.

Prior to forming SPS, Mr. Francis was Sr. Vice President, Marketing & Pricing for Fisher Scientific, LLC.  During his four years at Fisher, Mr. Francis evaluated the pricing practices of multiple Fisher business units, identified opportunities to improve pricing effectiveness and margins, and implemented pricing improvements that resulted in significant improvement in operating income.  Mr. Francis was also Vice President, Finance of Fisher’s US Distribution Operations during his first year there.

Mr. Francis was responsible for improving pricing practices in several prior roles at Ryder System, Inc. and Outsource International, Inc.  During his time at Ryder, he improved margins and increased revenue by transitioning Ryder’s Truck Rental and Leasing business from cost-plus to market-based pricing that aligned prices with the size of market opportunity and corrected small, underpriced accounts.  As VP Finance of Ryder Temperature Controlled Carriage, he re-aligned prices by lane, better matching supply and demand.  In addition, as Finance Director for Ryder Airline Engine Services in Scotland, he introduced service-based pricing that enabled the company to capture the value of technology improvements that would have been lost in traditional time-and-material pricing.

Mr. Francis also served as Chief Financial Officer of Ryder Automotive Carrier Services, Ryder International, and Outsource International.

Prior to beginning his career in finance and pricing, Mr. Francis earned a BS in Finance at California State University, Sacramento and an MBA at the University of Chicago.
