ACG NY Members:
First, I would like to personally thank you for your support of our chapter. Second, I hope you have had a positive experience with the many changes we have made as we continue to shape our chapter into a preferred destination for deal makers as well as facilitating a better business development and networking environment for our transaction advisory and value creation members.
As we start this new year, it is also time to begin the annual nominations process for our Board of Directors. I am writing to ask for your support in continuing our chapter growth by nominating qualified, motivated individuals to serve on your board. Our continued vision for ACG New York is for our chapter to be the leader and innovator for programming and events that help our members effectively develop opportunities to build their business.
As members, you have the opportunity to shape our chapter’s leadership and direction through the board nomination process. Qualifications to join the ACG New York Board of Directors include membership in good standing in ACG New York, a willingness to be an active participant on the board, including attending quarterly board meetings and dinners, regular attendance of ACG New York events, and active participation on at least one ACG New York committee. We strongly recommend that nominees have either participated on an ACG New York committee, especially in a leadership role. Additionally, we are seeking board members who have a strong network of industry contacts who they can draw on to participate in or help with events.
ACG New York’s officer and Board of Director terms run from September 1st of each year to August 31st of the following year in order to coincide with our chapter’s fiscal year. Officer terms are for one year and board terms are for three years. Voting for the 2020-21 ACG New York’s officers and Board of Directors will take place at the July 2020 Board meeting. Newly elected officers and Board members will then attend a board orientation in August and their terms will commence September 1, 2020.
Nominations for the 2020-2021 ACG New York Board of Directors are currently being accepted. Candidates must be nominated by an existing ACG New York member and may not nominate themselves. All nominees will be required to submit a copy of their professional bio and a completed ACG New York Board Nomination Form to Sarah Kuhns in order to be formally considered, and can be sent to email@example.com.
The deadline for nominating a candidate is April 30, 2020. We will also be conducting in-person interviews with selected nominees in May and June.
