ABI Nominates Recent Article by ACG Orange County’s Mike Issa for Pulitzer Consideration
ABI, the official journal for the American Bankruptcy Institute, recently forwarded a letter of enthusiastic recommendation to the Pulitzer Board regarding an article written by GlassRatner’s J. Michael Issa. The title of the article was “OPECalypse Now,” and it addresses the solvency of OPEC member nations at current crude prices. It ran in the June 2019 edition of ABI. Mr. Issa’s article has been submitted for the consideration of the Pulitzer judging panel in the Explanatory Reporting category.
“Mr. Issa’s cogent analysis of the troubled petroleum market, familiar to many in the oil industry and certainly to those of us in the bankruptcy and insolvency community, may be less well known outside the confines of those professions,” said Lisa S. Gretchko, Vice-President of Publications for American Bankruptcy Institute. “Indeed, even for industry veterans who witnessed the last great upheaval in the global oil markets, the current situation, as detailed by Mr. Issa, represents something entirely new.”
Established in 1917, the Pulitzer Prize is an award for achievements in newspaper, magazine and online journalism, literature, and musical composition in the United States. This year’s winners and finalists will be announced in April 2020.
