THE EXPANDING LOWER-MIDDLE MARKET OPPORTUNITIES FOR ESOPs
Historically seen as a niche transaction structure, ESOPs (formally, “Employee Stock Ownership Plans”) are being utilized to achieve an expanding set of opportunities for diverse participants across the lower-middle market.
Moderated by Ethan Stambler of SES ESOP Strategies, the discussion will begin with a concise ESOP primer and highlights of why ESOP activity is expanding across the Lower-Middle Market. The conversation will then turn to a first-hand perspective from leaders in the evolving ESOP space.
Jim Bingham, CEO of Greensboro-based ESOP Hoffman & Hoffman, will illuminate how being an ESOP for nearly 50 years has enabled the company’s success - both organically and through acquisitions. Walt Mayo, Operating Partner with private credit firm Apis & Heritage Capital Partners (“A&H”), will share how A&H is utilizing the ESOP structure to seek attractive returns for its investors, distinct value for business sellers, and greater economic opportunity for employees, their families, and communities.
Whether you think you know about ESOPs…or have little understanding, this session will provide valuable insight into the expanding opportunities available through this unique structure.
