Lisa Brummel is currently one of the co-owners of the Seattle Storm and an active member of the Seattle community.  Throughout her career she has engaged in the “business of people” whether in team sports or corporate settings and strives to bring out the best in whatever the situation has to offer.

Brummel was most recently the executive vice president for human resources at Microsoft until her retirement in 2014.  She was a member of the senior leadership team and an active proponent for employee engagement.  During her time in the HR role, she and her teams were responsible for many changes to the people agenda at the company from changes in compensation and benefits, to advocacy around diversity, to a complete overhaul of the performance review program.  Prior to stepping into the HR role, Lisa served as the corporate vice president for the Home and Retail division of Microsoft.  In this role she was responsible for overseeing worldwide development and business strategy for Microsoft’s line of consumer software and hardware business.

Outside of work and basketball, Brummel is engaged in various community ventures. She currently serves on the board of directors for Laird Norton Wetherby and Domino Data Lab. She is on the advisory board for Humanly and Copper Strategic.  In addition, she is active in philanthropic activity for organizations such as Yale University and supports Seattle community efforts including Hopelink, KEXP, KNKX, and SIFF.
