Maya Mendoza-Exstrom serves as Chief Business Officer for Seattle Reign FC, where she leads the club’s business operations, strategic growth, and community impact initiatives. In her role at Reign FC, Mendoza-Exstrom is helping steward a bold, women-led vision for the future of soccer in the Pacific Northwest. A respected voice in U.S. soccer and civic leadership, Mendoza-Exstrom brings more than a decade of experience in professional sports, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer.

In her tenure with Sounders FC, Mendoza-Exstrom oversaw a broad portfolio that spanned strategic initiatives, legal and external affairs, people and culture, social justice, government relations, philanthropy, and organizational impact. She initially joined the club as its first General Counsel and played a central role in shaping Sounders FC’s reputation as a purpose-driven and community-anchored organization.

A Seattle native and lifelong advocate for the game, Mendoza-Exstrom is a proud product of Washington Youth Soccer and has made her mark at every level of the sport – from youth to collegiate to the professional stage. Her leadership extended to the global stage as well, playing a key role in Seattle’s successful bid to become a host city for the FIFA World Cup 2026 as part of the local organizing committee.
