As I take up my role as Chapter President of ACG UK, firstly I owe a debt of gratitude to my predecessor, Richard Shaw of Growth Capital Partners, who has captained our ship over the past year.
Of particular note has been Richard’s drive to launch ACG regionally with events held in Manchester, Leeds and, soon, Birmingham. Further events are in planning to continue this initiative with a regional committee in place. This is a significant milestone for ACG UK and I look forward to continuing the momentum.
On behalf of ACG, we thank Richard for his commitment, determination and success during in his tenure.
Last year saw a 50% increase in the number of firms attending events. Some 300 companies in fact. It is clear that awareness of ACG UK continues to increase. Looking ahead to this year, I have three clear goals:

- Promote the ACG as a clear, go-to channel of middle market thought leadership.
- Help facilitate peer to peer discussions as well as fostering closer ties for deal makers and service providers throughout the UK.
- As the shadow of Brexit begins to loom ever larger, to help the UK middle-market better access our established member network across the globe, with a view to continuing to maintain the UK as a centre of international deal activity.
