Meet the Board: Jeff Tillman, National Business Development Leader, Crowe LLP

Introduce us to your day job, title and responsibilities.

I’m currently the National Business Development Leader for Crowe LLP. I oversee the Business Development team nationwide for Crowe and lead our firm’s market strategy. I serve as a leader for several key market initiatives including Private Equity, Food & Agribusiness, Technology and Cannabis. Additionally, I lead business development training for all our market facing professionals.

What inspired you to pursue a job in this industry?

I started my career in finance and quickly learned that I was not meant to work at a desk all day long. Being able to interact with people and try to assist them in solving problems was much more pleasing. That’s how I found myself in a Business Development role. As for working with a CPA firm, I found the profession to be highly ethical. I like surrounding myself with intelligent, ethical and professional people. Crowe provides this for me.

Why was it important for you to be involved in ACG 101 at the Board level?

When I was asked to join the board as the past President, I believed that there was an opportunity for ACG 101 to develop into the premier business professional’s organization in the region.

Describe your current responsibilities on the Board, if applicable.

Currently, I’m the Chairman of the Stars of the 101, ACG 101’s annual gala that honors businesses along the 101 for their outstanding achievements. We have honored over 50 companies since inception, many of which have grown to become leaders in the business community. When we created this event over 6 years ago, we made a commitment that all the proceeds raised would benefit the local community. I’m proud of the contributions we’ve made to date and will continue to drive our commitment into the future.

What is your favorite thing about ACG 101?

The people.

What excites you most about the direction of ACG 101, and how will you contribute to it?

We continue that journey to be the premier business professional’s organization in the region, while making significant contributions to the community.
