Overview

Body

To advance our D.E.I. objectives in 2023, we have developed a theme-centered campaign entitled The Pathways Series. The premise of our event series is to establish a platform for prospective, new, and existing members of our M&A Community to receive and participate in thought leadership, education, and resource sharing historically perceived as inaccessible or isolated to the realm of private equity and capital management elite. We chose this theme as an opportunity to foster heightened educational awareness, visibility, professional connections, and access to fiscal management tools, resources, and asset channels for personal business owners and associated M&A scholars, practitioners, and leaders.

For the 3rd in our event series in 2023, we are coordinating a premier evening event on June 20, 2023, Access to Lending (part of the ACG Atlanta Pathways Series)

Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion on "Accessing Lending for Businesses." We are excited to announce Ambassador Andrew Young as the featured speaker in addition to a panel focused on lending. Ambassasdor Young will discuss his involvement in the purpose, mission and vision of Greenwood, the digital banking platform for Black & Latino owned businesses and individuals. Our expert panelists will explore the challenges and opportunities faced by middle-market businesses in accessing financing.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from our panel of experts and gain valuable insights into how businesses can access lending that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. Register now to secure your spot!

Andrew J. Young has earned worldwide recognition as a pioneer in and champion of civil and human rights. Ambassador Young’s lifelong dedication to service is illustrated by his extensive leadership experience of over sixty-five years, serving as a member of Congress, African American U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mayor of Atlanta, and ordained minister, among other positions.

During the 1960s, Young was a key strategist and negotiator during civil rights campaigns that led to the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Appointed as an Ambassador to the United Nations in 1977, Young negotiated an end to white-minority rule in Namibia and Zimbabwe and brought President Carter's emphasis on human rights to international diplomacy efforts. As two-term Mayor of Atlanta, Young brought in over 1,100 businesses, over 70 billion in foreign direct investments and generated over a million jobs.

Ambassador Young has received honorary degrees from more than 100 universities and colleges in the U.S. and abroad and has received various awards, including an Emmy Lifetime Achievement award in 2011 and the Dan Sweat Award in 2017.  His portrait also became part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.
