Paycor is one of Cincinnati's entrepreneurial success stories. Over a thirty-year period, Bob Coughlin pursued his dream of providing clients with the highest level of service. In the process, he led the transformation of a payroll processing start-up into a human capital software powerhouse. Pete Wright, of Anderson LeNeave, will lead the conversation.

Founder

Bob Coughlin is the Founder and former CEO and Chairman of Paycor. Founded in 1990 Bob bootstrapped the financing of the Company by raising money cashing in his 401(k) and selling shares to friends and family to start a payroll processing company. In July of 2021 Paycor had a successful listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange becoming Cincinnati’s most recent public company (PYCR).

Today Paycor which is headquartered in Norwood has 2,000 employees and serves over 40,000 small and medium sized businesses through all 50 States. The company evolved from the payroll processing company to become a leader in the Human Capital Management market. He led the company to multiple honors including INC 5000, Cincinnati Business Courier Fast 55, Workforce 100, Best Places to Work, Top Workplace, Stevie’s People’s Choice for Service, and many others.

An avid cyclist and runner of ten marathons, Bob used his business and entrepreneurial acumen to create the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon in 1999. The event, which just celebrated its 22nd year, attracts more than 40,000 participants, raises $1.4 million a year for local charities, and has an estimated $14 million annual economic impact on the region.

Bob serves on the Board of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, The Crown Committee, and is a former board member of the local chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

Peter Wright

Anderson LeNeave & Company

Managing Director

Peter Wright is a Managing Director with Anderson LeNeave & Company since 2008. Anderson LeNeave is a middle market investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital banking for family owned, closely held and private companies.

He is a serial entrepreneur and prior to joining Anderson LeNeave & Co., was the founder and CEO of Trinity Security a company he sold to Diebold Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) in 2006. In 1996 he was a founder and Senior Vice President of Lionbridge Technologies where he led worldwide sales and marketing. Lionbridge (LIOX) went public on the NASDAQ exchange in 1999.

His industry focus is on business services, technology, manufacturing & distribution, printing, and security industries
