Founding Partner

Sarah Anderson is the founding partner of Vault Fund, a fund of funds focused on leading venture studios and company builders. Sarah is focused on building a portfolio of high-caliber, entrepreneurial talent creating the next wave of innovation in technology and life sciences. Through previous experience, this strategy is dedicated to generating outsized returns through the category.

Prior to Vault, Sarah led the Cintrifuse Syndicate Fund as the Fund Manager from 2013 through 2021. Cintrifuse is a strategic fund of funds with > $100M in AUM, investing in some of the best early-stage venture capital funds across the country. Cintrifuse investors were predominately corporations, including P&G, Kroger, Great American Financial, Smuckers, Western Southern, and several others who supercharged their innovation efforts through accessing world class venture investors and their portfolios. Some example investments include Greycroft, Lerer, Upfront, Madrona, and Revolution Ventures. As Fund Manager, Sarah was responsible for the Fund’s investments, working with corporate LPs on strategic initiatives, board reporting, and fundraising for Fund I and Fund II. 

Paul Gerwe

Paul Gerwe is a Principal in Fifth Third’s Equity Capital Markets platform, where he advises on and executes equity offerings with corporate clients. Since joining Fifth Third, Paul has helped facilitate 145 transactions in which clients raised over $80 billion in capital, spanning the IPO, follow-on, and convertible markets. Prior to Fifth Third, Paul covered the Healthcare Facilities & Services space at Robert W. Baird in their sell-side equity research department.

Jeffrey Sears

Jeff Sears is an Executive Director within MorganFranklin’s Accounting & Transaction Services group with over 20 years of combined audit, regulatory, and consulting experience.  Jeff serves as the co-leader of the firm’s Technical Accounting Solution Center (TASC) and leads engagements focused on IPO readiness, de-SPAC transactions, business combinations, audit readiness, and on-demand technical accounting matters.  Jeff serves as a trusted advisor to his clients, specializing in guiding his clients through the application of new and/or complex accounting guidance, challenging financial statement audits, SEC reporting matters, and private company financial reporting matters.  Jeff takes pride in his willingness to “roll up his sleeves” to ensure that his clients’ needs are met. 

Prior to joining MorganFranklin, Jeff previously worked in EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice, the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, and PwC’s external audit practice.  Jeff earned both his B.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Accounting from the University of Virginia, and Jeff holds a CPA license in the state of Virginia.

Justin Thompson

Justin R. Thompson has served as our Vice President, Business Development since March 2021. Previously, Mr. Thompson served in multiple business development roles at CinRx from August 2016 until August 2021, and as principal of CinyTech, LLC, a public-private seed-stage investor focused on high growth life science and digital companies, from January 2008 until April 2016. Mr. Thompson has a M.S. from University of Cincinnati and a B.S. from Washington University in St. Louis University.
