Eric joined Blue Sage in 2013. Previously, he worked as an Associate at Berkshire Partners, a middle-market private equity firm with $11 billion under management, specializing in investments primarily in consumer, retail, business services and industrial companies.

Prior to Berkshire, he worked as a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Company in the Dallas and Melbourne offices.

Eric is actively involved with the University of Texas, guest lecturing for the Financial Analyst Program, participating in the Forty Acres Society, and serving as a mentor for the Business Honors Program.

Eric graduated from The University of Texas with a BBA degree in Finance from the Business Honors Program and a BA in Government, both with Highest Honors. He earned his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Erik Konicki joined Statesman as a Director in 2016 and has over 25 years of public and private company experience in middle market investment, financial consulting, and operations. He has been involved in company transactions in such diverse industries as construction materials and services, oil and gas, technology, healthcare services and equipment, non-durables – food, financial services, and utilities industries.

Prior to joining Statesman Business Advisors, LLC Erik lead B&V Capital Advisors and the Forensic, Valuation and Litigation Support practice at Briggs & Veselka, Co. Previously, he has served in a variety of roles including, M&A advisor, valuation expert, owner of an investment research firm, interim CFO, transaction advisory, wealth manager, investor, risk management adjunct professor, and a fraud examiner.

Erik currently serves on the Boards of the Secured Financial Network (SFNet) – Houston as Chairman and the St. Pius X Foundation Board as a Trustee. Previously he has served on the Boards of the Mass Spec Resources International, Royalist Independent Equity Research LTD., the University of Houston Bauer College of Business, the University of St. Thomas Cameron School of Business, and been involved with numerous professional and community associations such as the CFA Institute, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and Sight into Sound. Erik is married with two daughters and active as a cheer dad and in girls lacrosse.

Erik is registered with FINRA and has completed the Series 79 and 63.

Executive Vice President

Jeremy Newsom, Executive Vice President, joined the company in 2017. Jeremy serves on the Board of Directors of Alliance Payroll Services and Process Service Specialists. Prior to Platform, he was an Executive Vice President with Amegy Bank, where he worked since 2000. At Amegy, he managed the Corporate Banking division with a focus on publicly traded, middle market, and private equity sponsored companies. He received his BBA in finance from Texas A&M University and his MBA from Rice University. He has also received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. A native Houstonian, Jeremy serves the community through organizations including Grace Bible Church and Campus Outreach Houston. Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife, Crystal, and their three young children.

  • Having successfully executed and integrated the acquisition of several companies, Chin has direct first-hand experience for the financial management and analysis of privately owned and public organizations in various industries including manufacturing & distribution, oil & gas exploration, oilfield services, financial services, professional services, healthcare and technology.
