Houston, May 17, 2017 – The Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Houston hosted its inaugural corporate development peer group breakfast program on Thursday, May 11. The newly formed sub-group of the ACG Houston chapter is exclusive to corporate development officers and corporate transactional executives. Our invitation-only gatherings ensure that corporate executives will have the opportunity to network, compare strategies, share ideas and experiences with their peers to help improve acquisition success.

During the breakfast program, Michelle Lewis, Chief Strategy Officer at DistributionNOW, presented a case study on a recent buy-side acquisition. The presentation addressed topics such as acquisition strategy, unlocking shareholder value and post acquisition integration.

The group participated in a round table discussion following the presentation to reflect on similar experiences and best practices. From the discussion, common issues arose among the group such as post acquisition integration, which will serve as the subject matter for the next presentation.

“I am excited about our inaugural corporate development peer group breakfast. We tried to create an intimate working group environment that allowed the sharing of best practices in deal execution and lessons learned from successful and challenging deals, and the response we received from those who attended is that it exceeded expectations and they are looking forward to the next event,” said Lewis.
