History

ACG Minnesota

A group of New York corporate executives started the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) in 1954 to foster connections among local business leaders.  Attracted by conversations about growth and expansion through mergers and aquisitions, the group began luring members from Chicago, Toronto and other cities, Twin Cities among them.  Weary of traveling east but wanting to maintain the connections they made, a group of Minnesota business leaders asked to open a Minnesota chapter.  ACG gave its blessing and in 1966, ACG Minnesota was born.  In the early days, ACG Minnesota was a fairly informal group and no paid staff.  In time, ACG Minnesota began adding more networking and education events and grew greatly over time. The Minnesota chapter has a full time Executive Director, Shelley Fischer and an Events Manager, Lisa Johnson who both started in May 2023. Together with the board and committee members they provide nearly 50 events each year.
