Anne Hed

Anne Hed

HED Cycling
CEO

Anne Hed is a lifetime resident of Minnesota. Her history as a business owner grew from a career as a professional triathlete in the 1980s. She met her late husband Steve through the sport and raced worldwide on Hed’s aerodynamic disc bicycle wheel. It was the first such wheel commercially available to an emerging market of triathletes, professional racers, and Olympic cyclists. Funded in part by Anne’s race winnings, Hed Cycling was born and production was set up in Steve’s garage.

A pioneering company in the field of performance cycling products, Hed Cycling has been awarded several significant patents, securing their place as a top racing accessory  manufacturer. In 2014, Anne was awarded Established Business Owner of the Year for Minnesota by the National Association of Women Business Owners. In 2016, Hed was one of the ten finalists out of 1,400 companies in the 2016 FedEx Small Business Grant awards. 2016 also saw the debut of the Cervelo P5X triathlon bike – one of the most advanced bicycles in the world – manufactured by Hed in Minnesota. In 2017, Hed was selected as one of Forbes Small Business Giants, with feature article and video chronicling their success. In 2018 Hed Cycling won the both Corporate Small category of the ACG MN Bold awards and the overall Boldest of the Bold award. This fall Hed was listed by MSPBJ as a Business of Manufacturing honoree.

Anne is a proud mother to Rebecca and Andrew.
