Erick Alonso is a Wealth Advisor with Bernstein Private Wealth Management in West Palm Beach. Grant O’Connor is an entrepreneur and investor with over 18 years of Capital Markets experience in both the public and private markets. He has a diverse knowledge of various sectors ranging from Emerging Markets to Resources, Energy and Supply Chain Finance, focusing on Debt and Equity for companies raising capital.

Mr. O’Connor originally started his career as a retail broker, helping high-net worth individuals with their stock, hedge fund, and mutual fund portfolios.

In 2013, he joined well-known Wall St Trader – Lawrence McDonald, at his firm The Bear Traps Report, as a Managing Director, helping to build the business, focusing on Bespoke Policy research, selling to institutional and buy side accounts.

After moving back to Canada in 2016, Mr. O’Connor joined Purpose Investments where he assisted the firm in raising institutional capital, launching Mutual Funds, ETF’s and expanding into new markets. During his tenure, he raised over $1B for the asset manager.

In 2019, Mr. O’Connor Co-Founded Theon Capital, a boutique Merchant Bank focused on the lower middle market, and Private sector transactions. Theon Capital conducts due diligence, sourcing, working alongside a single-Family Office. In 2024, Theon Capital merged into FMI Securities, a Canadian and U.S broker dealer that specializes in Debt and Equity Capital markets with transactions ranging from $1-250mm.

As a Partner and Head of Debt Capital Markets at FMI Securities, he is responsible for Originations, Sales, and Credit focused capital advisory.

He is based in Florida but has worked in Canada and the United States.
