Board of Directors Adds New Members to Drive Strategy Execution and Growth
San Diego, CA- July 24, 2017 – The San Diego Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG San Diego) is pleased to announce that John "JR" Rains, Vice President, Alliant Insurance Services, is the newly elected President of the Chapter. Mr. Rains succeeds R. Michael Jones, Partner with Higgs Fletcher & Mack, who will remain on the Board. John will serve as President for the fiscal year starting July 2017. He has been a member of ACG San Diego for five years and has previously served as Co-Chair of the Chapter’s Program Committee.
“I am excited to lead this organization and help support and drive middle-market growth in the San Diego business community,” stated John Rains. “I take over an organization that is strong and I wish to thank Mike Jones for his leadership over the past year as we grew membership by 20%. The Board of Directors and I have aggressive plans to continue to drive our brand through increased membership, networking and participation with quality, engaging topics and events for business owners, entrepreneurs and service providers. Moreover, we have a vision of implementing new initiatives to further enhance the value of membership and participation as we strive to be viewed as the thought leaders for middle market growth and business deals in the San Diego region.”
John joined the Alliant Insurance Services team in 2008 and is a senior Broker with the San Diego office. John’s experience and expertise include over 20 years working in commercial insurance, loss control, and risk management. He is a leader in the specialty practice of Transactional Insurance coverages used in M&A transactions. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the marketing and placement of Domestic & Worldwide Insurance & Risk Management Programs and is recognized for his guidance to Life Science, Technology, Non-Profit, and Social & Professional Services Industries. Prior to his tenure at Alliant, John was a leader for national brokers, Marsh & McLennan and Willis. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Chemistry from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is a member of ProVisors, has served as Board President of San Diego Cares and Volunteer San Diego and is a mentor for Big Brothers & Big Sisters of San Diego County.
The Chapter also is excited to announce the addition of two new Board members to its leadership team including Jay Robinson-Duff, VP at First American Trust, and David H. Crean, Ph.D., Managing Director for Objective Capital Partners, LLC. Mr. Robinson-Duff will serve as Chair of the Membership Committee. Dr. Crean will lead the Chapter’s marketing efforts. They will join a group of high quality, experienced Board members that have been on the Chapter’s Board for numerous years in driving strategy and execution.
