ACG South Florida Fall M&A Series: Resurgence of M&A Deals in the Lower-Middle Market

Michael co-founded Daszkal Bolton in 1992 as a boutique public accounting firm. Through his leadership, Daszkal Bolton has grown from a two-person firm to a three-office public accounting and consulting firm that employs approximately 140 people. Michael continues to serve as Managing Partner and as a member of the Executive Committee.

Over more than 25 years, Michael has developed expertise in audit and accounting, strategic tax planning, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, and financial planning and consulting for optimal business growth.

Michael provides clients with business strategies for success. His industry expertise extends to technology, biotechnology and life sciences, manufacturing and distribution; real estate and construction; and healthcare.

Jordan B. Taylor focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures and other general corporate matters. In addition, Mr. Taylor represents both insureds and underwriters in connection with transactional risk products, including the issuance of representations and warranties insurance policies. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he obtained his Master's degree in accounting from the University of Florida Fisher School of Accounting.

Mr. McGruder is a Partner and Co-Founder of Palm Beach Capital with nearly twenty years of private equity and M&A experience. Since co-founding Palm Beach Capital, he has been involved in all aspects of the fund raising, investment and portfolio management processes. Shaun has led a number of successful investments at the firm and has extensive experience working with middle market companies primarily in the healthcare, logistics and business service sectors. He currently is a board member of several of Palm Beach Capital portfolio companies.

Prior to Palm Beach Capital, Shaun served as Vice President of Finance at Workflow Management (Nasdaq: WORK) where he was in charge of acquisitions. In just three years, the company grew from $330 million in revenues to $650 million through the completion of over 30 acquisitions.

Shaun began his career with Bank of America in the Corporate Lending Group managing a portfolio of high growth middle market clients within the Mid-Atlantic region.

Shaun graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and earned his MBA at University of Richmond.

Jeff is a Director in the Transaction Services practice and leads the Financial Due Diligence group for Daszkal Bolton. He specializes in producing Quality of Earnings reports in support of buy and sell-side M&A transactions and other capital raising activity.

Prior to joining the firm, Jeff worked as a Senior Manager in the Deals Advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in their Chicago, Illinois office. He has extensive experience in financial due diligence across a broad range of transaction scenarios including assisting private equity clients with platform and add-on acquisitions, divesting of portfolio companies at the end of the intended hold period, and dividend recapitalizations, as well as assisting corporate clients with strategic buy outs and carve-out divestitures. Jeff has performed financial due diligence on targets across all industries including manufacturing, distribution, software, business services, healthcare, and infrastructure with an enterprise value range from $10 million to $3 billion. Prior to his time with PwC, Jeff was a senior associate in the investment banking practice of UHY Corporate Finance in Detroit, MI, focused on sell-side M&A advisory for manufacturing and service businesses within the automotive industry supply chain.

Jeff obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Florida and Illinois. Jeff is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants, and the Illinois CPA Society.
