Speakers:

Yuval Bachar, CEO & Co-Founder, ECL
ECL CEO and Co-founder Yuval Bachar previously held top engineering, infrastructure, and architecture roles at LinkedIn, Facebook, Cisco, Juniper Networks, and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).
Bachar was a founder of the Open19 project, a data center industry initiative establishing a new open standard for servers based on a common form factor, and is past president of the Open19 Foundation.
He holds eight U.S. patents in data center, networking, and system design and is the recipient of three Cisco Pioneer Awards.

Ken Karklin, Chief Executive Officer @ Pivotal
Ken brings decades of leadership experience in the engineering, aircraft, and robotic systems spaces to his role as Pivotal's CEO. He holds eight US patents for technology innovations, and earned an executive certificate from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Raj Pai, Chief Technologist, Aviation Systems Division @ NASA Ames Research Center, Silicon Valley
Raj Pai also serves as Chief Technologist for the Aviation Systems Division at NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley. He leads machine learning/AI and big data research programs in support of the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) in collaboration with industry, academia, and interagency global partners.
Prior to joining NASA, Raj Pai spent more than 25 years in technology and business roles. As a domain expert in AIML, digital and cloud technologies, Pai is passionate about harnessing the power of technology solutions to solve industry challenges. As product leader at leading data companies including Teradata, Informatica, and Tibco, Intel, he and his team developed and deployed enterprise solutions across healthcare, financial services, and telecommunications. At smart grid startup, AutoGrid Inc. (acquired by Schneider Electric) he drove the effort to design and deploy internet applications for global energy service providers enabling them to harvest clean energy sources for growth and efficiency. Pai also served as CEO/founder at Claritics where he pioneered cloud-based user analytics for gaming and media.
Pai is a mentor for Data Science interns and researchers at NASA and the community. In his personal life, he is actively involved with entrepreneurs, educators, and change makers in the Bay Area and he enjoys riding his bike and is always willing to engage in a “foodie” adventure.
Pai received his Bachelor’s degree in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay; a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii, Mānoa; and a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.

Wendy Spies, General Manager, Partnership Lead – Office of the CTO @ Microsoft
Wendy Spies is the General Manager, Partnership Lead – Office of the CTO at Microsoft. In more than 15 years of successful product leadership experience, she has brought multiple companies from product conception to financial exit - from 21.co, with a 100x return on investment to trialpay.com, whose offering still powers Visa's advertising network, to Voltage Security where more than one third of the Fortune 500 use it as their corporate encryption standard.
Ms. Spies is now focused on furthering Microsoft's mission of personal and organizational empowerment by guiding technology investments. Her primary focus is to build, buy, and partner to develop game-changing solutions for customers in the Cloud and Enterprise, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning divisions. In three and a half years she has developed product and driven investment in blockchain, containers, AI, data, and OSS. On a mission to grow with others by driving efficient, iterative innovation practices that lead to exponential growth in business value, Ms. Spies holds a B.S. in Engineering from Stanford.

Mark Niu is a technology reporter and an award-winning screenwriter and playwright. He is a correspondent and podcast host for the brain health site Being Patient and serves as a guest panelist on NBC Bay Area’s Press Here TV show. Mark is a regular contributor for Global Business, a news show on international TV station CGTN America. He’s always on the lookout for innovation, covering such events as CES, Game Developer’s Conference, RSA, and a flurry of startup demo days.
For more than three decades, Mark has been a journalist covering global events, providing in depth reporting on the 1997 Hong Kong handover, traveling to North Korea twice where he crossed the DMZ, and interviewing world leaders including the presidents of Taiwan and the Philippines. He was awarded a Foreign Correspondents Human Rights Press Award from Amnesty International for his investigative report on corporal punishment in Indian schools. Mark has helped produce programs for CBS 60 Minutes, Fox News, The NBC Nightly News, The National Geographic Channel, and the Nightly Business Report on PBS. He was a familiar face in Hong Kong where he anchored and reported for the territory’s largest broadcasters, including TVB, Star TV, and Asia Television. Prior to that, Mark served as reporter and anchor at local NBC and ABC affiliates in Wisconsin.
Mark’s play, Juche Rules, based on his travels to North Korea, was staged at East West Players Theater in Los Angeles and published in the Southern California Review. His short films and documentaries have screened at numerous festivals, including winning best writing and directing awards at the Moondance and Poppy Jasper International film festivals.
