ACG Toronto hosted a sold-out Opening Dinner, to kick off the 22nd Capital Connection Conference. Held at The Carlu, one of Toronto’s premier entertainment venues, the evening was filled with inspiring conversation, industry insights, and networking opportunities.
A special highlight of the evening was the keynote interview with Larry Mestel, Founder & CEO of Primary Wave, and moderated by Mark Satov, Founder of Satov Consultants Inc. In 2006, Mestel took his extensive experience working at multiple record labels and founded Primary Wave Music, one of the largest independent music publishing, marketing and talent management companies in the United States. In 2022, Brookfield Asset Management, through a strategic partnership, invested in a significant minority interest in Primary Wave and provide an additional $1.7 billion capital funding commitment, in a deal valued in excess of $2 billion.
We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, whose support made this event possible:

Toronto Capital Connection — Closing Keynote Interview
The 22nd Annual ACG Toronto Capital Connection was hosted this week — including a full-day conference featuring 10 presentations and 37 speakers from across North America and the 8th fall DealSource North program.
DealSource North is the largest dealmaking conference hosted in Canada. More than 100 companies and 150 executives participated in 600+ meetings — representing Private Equity, Family Office and Capital Providers — who met with Investment Banks and M&A advisory firms from Canada and the U.S.
We were thrilled to have a captivating Closing Keynote featuring Hon. Erin O'Toole, President and Managing Director of ADIT North America, moderated by Jake Bullen, Partner at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP.
The topic: In a year of numerous global elections, significant geopolitical volatility, and rapid economic and technological developments, how can business leaders, investors and deal advisors manage — and leverage — change?
The discussion delved into the complexities of navigating a world marked by global political change and rapid evolution in the economic opportunities for Canada and the regions across the country. Mr. O'Toole provided invaluable insights on leadership, the financial markets, and strategies to capitalize on these dynamic times.
