Peter J. Holt

Peter is the great, great grandson of Benjamin Holt, who introduced the first practical track-type tractor in 1904, which he named the Caterpillar®. Peter represents the fifth generation of the Holt family business and is proud to carry the distinguished HOLT legacy of service and innovation into the 21st century.

Peter joined HOLT CAT in September of 2011 as a trainee in HOLT’s Leadership Training Program and subsequently

completed a similar program for Caterpillar in Peoria, Illinois. He worked his way up through the ranks, and throughout his career at HOLT CAT, Peter has held several leadership roles in Sales, Service and Diversified Businesses. Peter is now CEO of HOLT CAT.

Peter graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is a co-founder and managing partner of Ironspring; a network-driven venture capital firm based here in Austin, and he currently serves as Chairman and Managing Partner of the San Antonio Spurs.

Peter is passionate about community impact through his engagements in education, nature conservancy and overcoming generational poverty.
