Body

With heightened awareness of social and environmental issues, more investors are looking to infuse capital into businesses & funds that promote responsibility, inclusion, diversity of thought and serving the underserved. During this event, speakers will share a macro view of the emerging trend of making more purposeful investments, with a deeper dive look into LP expectations and the balance between risk management and generating returns.

Following each speaker, attendees will participate in virtual roundtable discussions on a range of topics, among our community of women in M&A. We invite you to join us for this important conversation.

Sinead Colton - Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Head of Equities BNY Mellon Wealth Management

Keynote

Sinead Colton Grant is Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Head of Equities. She leads the Large Cap Equity investment group, the Equity Trading team, and the Capital Markets function, and has overall responsibility for equity investment solutions. She is a member of the Equity Strategy Committee and the Investment Strategy Committee. Sinead has over 20 years of investment experience. She most recently served as Head of Global Investment and Product Strategy for Mellon, BNY Mellon Investment Management’s North American investment firm, which she joined in 2012 through Mellon Capital. She was a member of the Senior Leadership team, the Investment Risk Committee, and the Environmental, Social & Governance Investing Committee. Prior to her role at Mellon, Sinead served as Managing Director of Investment Strategy for the Multi-Asset Client Solutions group at BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors in London, where she designed tailored investment solutions for institutional and wealth management clients in the UK and Continental Europe. Before joining Barclays Global Investors, Sinead held portfolio management roles at JP Morgan Investment Management, and was a founding partner and Head of Portfolio Management at Lee Overlay Partners. Sinead earned an MSc in Finance from London Business School and a BBS in Finance from Dublin City University in Ireland. She was honored as one of the Irish America Wall Street 50 in 2018 and 2019, which recognizes the contributions of Irish American and Irish born leaders in the financial industry.

Sarah Edwards - Investment Director, Sustainable & Impact Investing, Cambridge Associates

Keynote

Sarah joined Cambridge Associates in 2017. She conducts manager research through the lens of sustainability and impact and is based in the Boston office. Her focus spans asset classes and impact themes, and she leverages this research to support clients in activating impact and environmental, social, and governance considerations in portfolios. Sarah has over 13 years of diverse experience in the nonprofit and private sectors. She began her career advancing women’s political and economic empowerment in western Africa. She then spent four years with Conservation International in Washington DC leveraging climate change science to influence global policy. This work prompted her graduate studies at Duke University, where she focused on the link between corporate strategy, environmental and social performance, and impact investing. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, Sarah worked for management consulting firm Partners in Performance on operational improvement initiatives for industrial clients around the world. Sarah brings a unique blend of perspectives in environmental management and business strategy and operations to the Sustainable and Impact Investing Group, and balances client engagement with in-depth manager research.
