Join us for the C-Series Networking Breakfast on November 21, our bi-monthly morning event where the region's middle-market M&A community comes together to network and hear high caliber industry experts share their outlook, opinions, successes and failures in M&A.

November's C-Series Breakfast will feature Doug Elder, VP & GM of Semiconductor BU at OptimalPlus, speaking on the impact of big data analytics using AI, ML, cloud and other tools on the manufacturing industry.

Doug Elder is an accomplished Senior Executive with years of experience spanning hardware, software, manufacturing along with extensive experience in the semiconductor and electronics markets. Leveraging his experience in highly skilled, technical leadership for engineering and manufacturing companies, Doug is a valuable asset for companies requiring expertise with product and market definition, infrastructure, or go-to-market strategy. His broad areas of expertise include change management, strategy, team building and management, customer relationships, service and support organizations, global networking, and P&L management.

Throughout his executive career, Doug has held leadership positions with Automation Engineering, Inc., Boston Semi Equipment Group, and Teradyne. He served in numerous roles at Teradyne and its business units, including Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Support Manager, VP & General Manager of the Semiconductor Test Business Units ($850M to $1.1B business), and COO of the Integra Test Division, where he helped develop one of the most successful products in the company’s history and achieved a $220 million return on a $20 million investment. Doug moved on to become the Executive Vice President of Test Advantage in 2008, then served as the President and CEO of Boston Semi Equipment Group, which he built into a top electronic repair facility and grew from zero to 50 employees and $26 million in revenue. Doug also served as the CEO and President of Automation Engineering for four years before its successful sale for $62 million. He currently is the VP and GM of the semiconductor business for Optimal+ an Israeli VC backed IIOT software company.

Doug holds an EMBA from the George Washington University School of Business and a BS in Computer Science from Union College. As a seasoned board member, he has held board positions with Automation Engineering, Inc., Boston Semi Equipment Group and is currently on the board of ArcBazar, a crowdsourcing design website.
