ACG Boston Elects David Clark, Raymond James & Associates, as Chapter President, and John E. Surrette, Jr., KLR, as Chapter Vice President

BOSTON, MA – September 12, 2018 – ACG Boston, the Boston Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), has elected David Clark, Managing Director, Raymond James & Associates, as chapter President, beginning in September 2018. David takes over the presidency from Josef Volman, Co-Chair, Business Law Department, Burns & Levinson. The ACG Boston board also appointed John E. Surrette, Jr., Shareholder, KLR, as chapter Vice President. In this newly formed position, John will work closely with David to help drive the mission and initiatives of the chapter.

ACG Boston serves over 500 New England members who are directly involved in M&A transactions – including private equity investors, intermediaries, corporate development professionals, family offices, lenders and M&A service providers – and is dedicated to helping middle-market M&A professionals build and maintain trusted and productive relationships through membership and event opportunities.

David Clark – Managing Director, Raymond James

David joined Raymond James & Associates in 2009 and he is the head of the Financial Sponsors Group that actively covers over 350 private equity and venture capital firms, as well as family offices. Prior to joining Raymond James, he was a Managing Director at Lane, Berry & Co. International which he joined in 2002. At Lane Berry, David covered the industrial and environmental services sectors and completed a number of M&A and advisory transactions.

Previously, he was a Director at UBS Warburg in the Global Industrial Group. At UBS Warburg, David completed numerous debt, equity, M&A advisory and restructuring transactions. Prior to UBS Warburg, David worked for Dillon, Read & Co. and at Bank of Boston Corporation. He received his B.A. in Economics from Harvard College in 1989 and his M.B.A. from the Darden School in 1997.

John E. Surrette, Jr., CPA, CFE, CM&AA – Shareholder, KLR

John began his career in public accounting in 1999 and joined KLR in 2001. John graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting in 1999 and obtained his Masters in Business Administration in 2003, earning both degrees from the University of Rhode Island.

John Chairs the firm’s Private Equity and Venture Capital Services Group and is Co-Chair of the firm’s Renewable Energy Services Group. He has a wide range of audit and consulting experience with clients in a variety of industries including private equity and venture capital, renewable energy, technology and technology-enabled service companies, manufacturing and distribution. He works closely with private equity and venture capital firms in meeting back office and portfolio company needs, as well as with providing both buy side and sell side advisory services.
